DANCE WELLNESS / MOVEMENT EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY

My approach as an educator (as well as a clinician) is based on the principle “Movement is an experience, and experiences inform the mover.” I seek to redefine the dance health/wellness learning experience, and a proponent of providing dancers with opportunities for physical literacy, movement exploration, and ultimately providing a movement experience that is educational, experiential, and applicable. My mentorship and educational efforts allow dancers to build awareness of human movement capacity, with the goal of setting young dancers up for success in their strength and conditioning, dance performance, and healing processes (if need be).

In 2023, DANCEPREHAB was awarded Dance Education Organization of the Year by the International Association of Dance Medicine & Science for our educational efforts in our community and abroad.

[ DANCER/PERFORMER ]
In junior high, I was first exposed to dance through breakin', which sparked an interest in movement and creating movement. While attending Chapman University (Orange, CA) I continued to develop personally develop my breakin' vocabulary while simultaneously pursuing a dance performance minor, training in ballet, and modern/contemporary/jazz techniques.

I have had the privilege to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC (representing Chapman University), and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland (with Sean Greene).

Upon completion of my undergraduate studies, I relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the commercial dance industry, appearing in commercials, tv shows, and competing on the 6th Season of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew.
